This useful culinary and medicinal herb used for millennia. It can be eaten raw in salads, roasted and has traditionally ben used as a sunstitute for coffee - in fact in my youth you could buy coffee and chicory coffee mixes. Medicinally, its traditional use has been for headaches and for water retention issues.

Wild Chicory thrives in sunny, well-drained locations - as such it loves broken ground, wasteland, and roadside verges where it can been seen in drifts across southern england in particular.

Give area a good soak using a rose
