Sweet woodruff, with its whorls of emerald green leaves and white starry flowers, is a beautiful sight in late spring, and the foliage is attractive all season long. It is a great option to bring flowers and folliage to those shady spots in the garden. When dried, the leaves smell of honey, and vanilla and are used to make herbal teas.

Seed Germination

• Sweet Woodruff seeds a period of cold stratification for optimum germination rates. 
• Mix the seeds with a little slightly moist sand and place in a zi lock bag 
• Place bag in the fridge for 6 weeks
• After cold stratification sow on tray of moist compost and lightly cover
• Cover tray with cling film or a plastic lid both with air holes for ventilation
• Keep at about 15-20c
• Ensure compost does not dry out
• Germination takes 4-6 weeks and can be erratic
• Pot on once large enough to handle
