Please find for sale 30+ Sweet Cicely (Myrrhis Odonata) seeds.This native British wild herb goes by a large number of common names including Myrrh, Garden Myrrh, Shepherd's Needle and Sweet Chervil. With its anise fragrance, this herb has been used for millennia for a variety of herbal uses.

Germination Guide

Sweet Cicely seeds have naturally dormancy and good germination will not be achieved occur unless the seeds are exposed to a period of cold. This process (stratification) can be achieved naturtally by sowing the seeds in a cold frame in Autumn and letting nature take its course, or you can articially achieve this as follows: 
  • Add the seeds to some moist sand or compost and put in a small ziplock bag
  • Keep the bag in the fridge for 8 weeks
  • After cold stratification, prepare a tray of moist compost mix
  • Firm the seeds into the compost mix a few cms apart then cover with about 5mm of sieved compost
  • Keep tray at around 20-25c, propagator ideal if central heating off at night.
  • Germination takes from 12-30 days depending on the conditions
  • Pot onto the individual posts once seedlinga about 7cm high
