Please find for sale a healthy young Silver Birch tree in a 9cm that I have organically raised from seed.

PLEASE NOTE - Plants are dispatched same day Mon-Thurs. I dont send plants out on Friday or Saturday as don't want them spending too much time at the sorting office.

If you are looking to growing a fast growing native British tree then Silver Birch should be high up the list. Not only is this tree very fast growing but its silvery white bark looks stunning all year round and is particularly striking on cold sunny winter days!

Silver Birch is very useful in "re-wilding" any piece of land - as we did with our own experiment! Fencing off a section of our field from livestock and deer, naturally self-seeded Silver Birch was the first tree species to poke up though the gorse and brambles and within 15 years we has a small wood of Silver Birch. It is a relatively short-lived tree  - it wont be here in 100 years time, but then neither will any of us! Its relatively short life allows other slower growing UK natives - Oak, Ash etc to get established and eventually take over many years down the line!


Care guide

  • Re-pot to larger pot on arrival
  • Keep out of full sun until fully established
  • Ensure does not dry out - rain water best
  • Will drop its leaves in Autumn
  • Keep outside in its pot over winter, for example against the all of the house
  • Protect from deer or other grazers
  • New growth will be visible in early spring.
