Please find for sale 15+ fresh Russian Sage seeds (Perovskia Atriplicifolia) - these have been collected from my own plants I have in containers outside my back door. Aside from being pretty and long-flowering, every time you brush past them, a delicious fragrance is released. The smell seems somewhere between that of sage and lavender.

This plant is actually now known as Salvia Yangii and is native to the steppes of central Asia, as a result it is extremely tough and hardy to both heat and cold - my plants have taken summer hot weather in their stride when others have given up

Germination Instructions

  • Sow in winter to ensure flowers the following season
  • Cold stratifying the seeds in a plastic bag at the bottom of the fridge for around a month. This will speed up and increase the rate of germination.
  • Fill a seed tray with moist seed starting mix.
  • Spread the seeds on the top of the soil a few cm apart. 
  • Gently press the seeds into surface to ensure good contact
  • Cover with a very light layer of sieved compost or vermiculite
  • Put a plastic cover on top of the seeds, and place the tray in an area out of direct sunlight with consistent temperature of 15-19c
  • Mist with water once a day or whenever the soil surface is dry to the touch.
  • Germinate can be erratic - from 45 to 90  but some often much more quickly. 
  • Once the seeds begin to sprout,remove the plastic cover. 
  • Move the tray to a sunny window
