Germination Guide (for growing outdoors)
Sow seeds directly outdoors in spring once the soil is workable and night temperatures stay consistently above 10°C (50°F), with an ideal soil temperature around 18°C to 24°C (65°F to 75°F).
Soil Preparation: Loosen the soil and mix in well-rotted compost or organic matter to create a fine, flat, and even seedbed 
Sowing Depth: Plant seeds shallowly—about 0.25 to 0.5 inches (5 mm to 13 mm) deep—or surface-sow them and lightly press or tamp them into the soil, as deep planting causes tiny quinoa seeds to fail.
Moisture Management: Keep the seedbed consistently moist like a carrot bed by saturating the soil initially and misting lightly until germination occurs, avoiding waterlogged conditions. 
Spacing and Thinning: Space rows about 18 to 24 inches apart, and thin out the emerging seedlings to about 10 to 14 inches apart once they are large enough to handle.
