Prickly Pear (Opuntia) | Well Rooted Pad | Easy Houseplant | Same Day Dispatch

Prickly Pears are deservedly one of the most popular cactii/succulent houseplants the world over - aside from being attractive and interesting they are just about the easiest thing you can grow. They are easy to propagate and/or the pads are often snipped off and used as tortoise & reptile food. 

Give them a pot of free draining compost and a sunny windowsill and you cant really go wrong. They will tolerate quite a lot of neglect by business people and give you clues when they are thirsty by going a bit crinkled!

I give mine a good water once every few weeks in summer then very little over the winter when the plant is mostly dormant.
