Please find for sale 100+ fresh Giant Sunflower seeds. If you want to grow the largest sunflowers (up to 13 feet) with huge heads, then this is the one for you!

Sunflowers are one of the easiest plants to grow so these are great options to get the kids involved or perhaps a school project. Once they have flowered the seed heads become a magnet for hungry birds over the Autumn and Winter - the seeds are of course highly nutritious!

Germination is easy, but to get the largest sunflowers possible, follow the simple guide below.

PLEASE NOTE: All orders received before 8pm (Mon-Fri) will be dispatched same day

Germination Guide

  • Sow in UK from March (indoors) through to late May if sowing direct into the soil where they are to flower.
  • Sow seeds individually about 1.5cm deep individual 10cm pots of moist multi purpose compost
  • Loosely cover pots with a clear plastic bag
  • Place in coolish but bright place - ideally an east/west facing window sill, away from a radiator.
  • Keep compost moist
  • Remove bag as plants develop
  • Plant out in May one all risk of frost has passed

Care Guide (to get the biggest flowers!)

  • Pick a spot that will get full sun
  • Soil should be moist, deep and rich - if now add plenty of composted material, well rotted manure, chicken manure pellets etc.
  • Plant 3 feet apart
  • Water in well
  • Watch our for slug and snail damage
  • Keep well watered if weather dry - several watering can loads at a time (I place bottles with the ends cut off into the soil next to the plant and water into these to ensure water gets down to roots)
  • Stake plants as they grow with bamboo canes - they grow several inches a week.
  • Feed regularly - a watering can of diluted high nitrogen feritliser (at Tomarite) per week
