Please find for sale 50+ seeds of Tagetes Minuta better known as Mexican Marigold. Tagetes Minuta has more common names than almost any plant I have encountered. In the Andes it is known as Huacatay or Wacatay and elsewhere as Chinchilla, Chiquilla, Quechua, Chilca, Zuico, Suico, or Anisillo. Other names include John Henry, Southern Marigold, Khakibos, Wild Marigold, and Black Mint!

This useful herb used for millennia in herbal medicine for its anti-inflamatory and anti-oxidative effects. The dried leaves are also used as a flavouring for soups and other foods. The plant will grow happily in the UK and is best treated as a half-hardy annual.

Sowing Guide

• Sow indoors 
• Surface sow onto a well-draining moist compost mix. 
• Cover seeds with a very fine layer of sieved compost as light is required for germination
• Keep warm at 20-25°C. 
• Germination takes 5-15 days. 
• Pot on seedlings once large enough to handle. 
• Harden off and plant out once danger of frost has passed.
