Please find for sale 20+ fresh Honey Locust Tree (Gleditsia Triacanthos) seeds. It is also known as the thorny locust or thorny honeylocust.

Honey Locust is one of my favourite trees - aside from being really good looking, it is fast growing, adaptable to all kinds of conditions and easy to grow from seed. In fact is is so adaptable that in its native environment in the USA it is sometimes considered invasive although this is very unlikely in the UK. There is stunning Honey Locust tree in the grounds of a hotel just down the road from me - when I first saw it I had no idea what it was but I knew I had to grow it and sell the seeds for others. Seeds to thrive in a relatively sheltered position surrounded by evergreen trees.

Germination Instructions

• Boil a kettle of water
• Allow water to cool slightly so it is circa 90c 
• Pour over seeds in a cup
• Allow to cool
• After 24 hours some of the seeds will have swollen to several times original size - plant these immediately
• Repeat soaking process for those not swollen, increasing the temperature a little each time.
• Prepare pots/trays of well watered compost
• Sow seeds well spaced out about 2.5cm deep
• Cover with a plastic bag with a few air holes
• Keep in a warm, bright spot eg a window sill
• Ensure compost does not try out but not too wet
• Remove bag when seedlings emerge - about 4 weeks
• Pot on as required
• Harden off gradually before moving into final position
