Please find for sale 100+ seeds of Centella Asiatic, better known as Indian pennywort, Asiatic Pennywort, Spadeleaf, Coinwort or Gotu Kola. 

This plant is native to Africa, Asia, Australia and will happily grow in temperate climates such as the UK as long as it has moist soil and is never allowed to dry out. In the UK it can be grown as as annual, or brought in and overwintered. Very high in vitamins and minerals is has been consumed for milennia as well as being used in traditional medicine.

Germination and Planting Guide

  • Prepare tray of moist compost mix
  • Sprinkle the seeds over the surface
  • Gently tamp/press the seeds against the compost to get a good contact
  • A very light covering of sieved compost of sharp sand can be added
  • Cover tray with a lid but with air holes open
  • Keep in a warm place, ideally around 23-26C - so a heat mat useful unless the area is warm day and night.
  • Ensure compost stays moist but not to wet - mist with water as required
  • Dermination should occur in 3-4 weeks depending on conditions.
  • Thin and transplant once large enough to handle.
