Growing Instructions

Starting Indoors
Fill containers: Fill seed trays, pots, or modules with moist, multi-purpose compost.
Sow seeds: Place 2 seeds per module, or sprinkle seeds thinly across the surface of a pot. 
Cover: Cover lightly with about 0.5 cm of fine sifted compost. 
Maintain moisture: Cover the container with a plastic lid or wrap to retain humidity, and keep the soil consistently moist until germination, which takes 7 to 14 days.
Transplant: Move seedlings outdoors into a sunny or partly shaded spot once they are a few inches tall and all risk of frost has passed, spacing them 15 to 30 cm apart.

Sowing Directly Outdoors
Timing: Sow directly in the garden from April to June when the soil has warmed up.
Planting: Sow seeds 0.5 cm deep in shallow drills.
Thinning: Thin the young seedlings out to 15 to 30 cm apart once they are large enough to handle.
