Please find for sale 50+ Red River Gum seeds (Eucalyptus Camaldulensis), also known as Murray red gum and Long beak eucalyptus. Although an iconic Australian gum tree, It is hardy to most of the UK if given a well-drained, sheltered and sunny position.

E. camaldulensis is a upright, spreading evergreen tree with smooth, grey or blue-white bark, sometimes tinted or streaked reddish-pink. Open branches bear ovate to broadly lance-shaped, grey-green juvenile leaves turning lance-shaped and mid- to grey-green with maturity. Umbels of cream to pale yellow flowers in summer are followed by ovoid fruit.


Germination Guide

Eucalypt's germinate readily from seed if basic steps are followed.

  • Soak the seeds in a glass of water for 24 hours
  • Sow seed on surface of a moist porous seed raising mix eg 50/50 compost and vermiculite. The seed will lodge in the the pores of the mix once watered..
  • Water with fine mist spray to avoid disturbance of the seed.
  • Very gently tamp down the surface of the soil using a suitable flat object
  • Place in a light, warm position but out of direct sunlight.
  • Keep warm & moist, avoid drying out or waterlogging the growing mix.
  • Germination generally occurs in around 10-28 days in the right conditions
