Devil's Tobacco (Lobelia Tupa) | 50+ seeds

Please find for sale 50+ fresh (and very small!) seeds for Lobelia Tupa, commonly known as Devil's Tobacco - an unusual and striking plant that produces blood red, tubular flowers on spikes. Originating from Chile it is almost hardy in the UK so could be brought into the greenhouse etc over winter albeit most people grow it as an annual.

This Lobelia is a million miles from the identikit bush and trailing varieties that you see in garden centres and will certainly impress friends and neighbours.

Sowing Guide

• Sow in late winter or early spring
• Sow seeds thinly ion surface of good quality seed compost mix - ideally a mix of 50% regular compost, 50% vermiculite (which I sell in the Accessories section of my eBay shop)
• Do not cover the seed with compost as light is required for germination, just lightly tamp the seeds into the surface
• Keep at temperatures of around 15 to 20°C in a bright place but out of direct sun
• Germination should take place in two to four weeks.
• Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them in "clumps" to 15" pots.
• Gradually harden off
• Plant out in final position once all risk of frost has passed
