Chilean Guava | Ugni Molinae | Straberry Myrtle | Own Crop | 20+ Seeds
Please find for sale 20+ Chilean Guava (Ugni Molinae) seeds, also known as Strawberry Myrtle. These seeds have come from my own crop from plants raised from seed.
Said to be Queen Victoria's favourite fruit, these berries were once commercially grown in Cornwall but went out of fashion with the flood of cheap foreign fruit. The berries taste great - perhaps a mix of strawberry mixed with vanilla. Hardy down to about -10c they can be grown in sheltered spots in most of the UK. I have my plants in pots and have moved them around a bit - I find the best location is somewhere out of cold/dry winds but gets a few hours of sun

Lightly cover with a few mm of sieved compost and water
Seed germination is naturally erratic - from a few weeks to a few months
Ensure compost does not dry out
Prick out the seedlings into individual pots as soon as they are large enough to handle
Grow them on in the greenhouse for at least their first winter
