Butterfly Pea | Clitoria Ternatea | 25+ seeds | Climbing Flower

Please find for sale 25+ fresh Clitoria Ternatea seeds, better known as the Butterfly Pea.

Native to Asia, this delicate sweet-pea like climber will grow quite happily in sunny, sheltered spots in the UK and they also make great plants for the conservatory or summerhouse. It produces most intense blue flowers - so blue in fact that in Asia the flowers are used to produce blue dyes. In case anyone is wondering, the genus of this plant, "Clitoria" was considered somewhat inappropriate in Victorian times, but due to the obvious resemblence, the name has scientific name has survived over the years!!

Germination Guide

• Sow late winter to spring
• Soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing
• Sow in trays or pots of moist, well-draining compost
• Lightly cover seeds with a few mm of compost
• Keep tray at 20-25C using a propagator or heat mat as required
• Ensure does not dry out
• Germinatiion takes 15-25C
• Pot on once large enough to handle
