Please find for sale 100+ Buddleia (Buddleja) seeds freshly gathered in the Autumn.  Buddleia is well-known as the absolute best plant you can grow if you want to attract butterflies and other pollenators to your garden! What's more it, it is easy and fast to grow.

This year we counted 5 different species of butterfly on the single Buddleia we have in our small garden.

Germination Guide

Buddleia seeds benefit from a period of cold stratification for maximum germination rates. This can be done the natural way - simply sow the seeds in pots and leave outside over winter, let nature take its course and the seeds will germinate in spring. Alternatively:

• Mix the seeds with some damp but not wet seed compost and place in a ziplock bag
• Place bag in the the fridge for 6 weeks (stratification)
• After stratification, sow indoors on the surface of trays of moist well-drained compost
• Gently tamp the seeds to ensure good contact with the compost
• Cover the seed tray with a plastic lid or clingfilm to maintain humidy
• Keep at 18-22°C
• Germination takes 15-20 days
• Remove cover once germination started
• Water regularly - best to do so from the bottom
• Pot on seedlings when large enough to handle 
• Harden off and plant out after danger of frost has passed
