Prickly Pear cactii are very easy to grow and make great house plants if you don't live in a warm frost free part of the world.

Germination Guide 
Prepare a seed tray or individual pots with a moist, gritty, free-draining compost. Gently firm down and level the surface. 
Individually place each seed on the surface of the compost
Press seeds gently into to soil to ensure good contact but not below the surface as they need light to germinate.
Potting mix should be moist but not wet
Leave warm sunny windowsill or under grow lights, loosely covered with a clear plastic bag to preserve soil moisture.
Seedlings will develop within a few weeks. Remove the plastic bag and water when the compost becomes dry, but spray the surface with water regularly, to keep it moist.
Transplant / pot on the seedlings carefully the following spring using gloves to avoid the spikes
Fill around the seedling with compost and water well. Add more compost if necessary and then use the spoon to arrange gravel around the seedling. Keep in a sunny spot such as a windowsill, and pot on as and when you need to.
Allow the compost to dry out completely over winter to reduce the risk of rot.
