Germination and Planting Guide

  • Seeds can be soaked in water for 8 hours to improve and speed up germination
  • Very gentle scarification between two sheets of sandpaper alsp speeds things up
  • Sow seeds on the surface of damp compost
  • Gently tamp (press) the seeds into the surface but do not cover as light required for germination
  • Partially cover and keep at room temperate in a light place but out of direct sunlight
  • Thin seedling when large enough to handle
  • Pot on as required
  • Plant out when risk of frost passed
  • Suits poorer quality well drained soils
