Dear ebayers,

Please find for sale 25+ Asparagus seeds. The variety is the ever popular "Mary Washington" which has an excellent taste but is also highly resistant to rust which if like me you are growing organically. These seeds are from my own asparagus patch, harvested and prepared in late September 2021  - so these are as fresh as you will get and of course I only have a limited stock - so get these now if you are planning on growing asparagus next season.

Germination Instructions

  • Soak seeds in lukewarm water for a few hours before sowing
  • Sow in late winter - late January to late February depending on your location
  • Ideally use mix of  50% regular compost, 50% vermiculite (which I sell in the Accessories section of my eBay shop) 
  • Alternatively sow in greenhouses from March to May
  • Use seed tray with individual cells and fill with moist but not wet peat-free compost.
  • Sow several seeds in each  cell around 1cm deep.
  • Keep at around 19-26c
  • Ensure compost does not dry out
  • Germination takes between 4-8 weeks depending on conditions
  • Pot on to individual pots once large enough to handle
  • Plant out in final position once all risk of frost has passed
  • Plant in rows approx. 20 inches apart
