Couldn't load pickup availability
Please find for sale 100+ seeds from a mix of 10 different species of alpine plants that are ideal for rock gardens and containers. Growing a rock garden is beneficial for its low maintenance, year-round visual interest, adaptability to small spaces, and habitat creation for specific wildlife. They are ideal for gardeners with less time, as rock gardens thrive in well-draining soil and often feature drought-tolerant plants. Furthermore, they provide a unique aesthetic that adds character to any landscape and can be designed to suit both large and small gardens or even the balconies on flats.
These are species/cultivars that have been included in the mix:
Dianthus "Pink Gem"
Gypsophilia Elegans "Baby Breath"
Aster Alpinus
Dianthus Allwoodii Alpinus
Lychnis Alpinus
Viola Mix
Campanula
Forget Me Not Mix
White Wall Cress Arabis Alpina
Snow in Summer Cerastium Tomentosum
I sell most of these cultivars individually elsewhere in my shop but great of course to get several different cultivars and mathematically you have a high chance of getting most if not all of them!

Seed Germination
This mix of popular alpine species have been selected because they have the same or very similar germinations conditions. The most important single factor in germinating and growing alpines is good drainage.
Prepare a free draining seed compost mix - for example a mix of equal parts John Innes No.2 compost, multipurpose compost and potting grit.
Fill a seed tray with the mix
Stand the seed tray in water for 20 mins or until the compost is soaked (you don not want to water from above)
Sprinkle the seeds as evenly as possible over the compost
Gently tamp (press) the seeds into the compost to get a good contact
Lightly top dress the compost with a layer of fine grit.
Place in a cold frame, porch or unheated greenhouse
Ensure compost does not dry out - stand in water for a few minutes as required
Germination can take from 10 days to a few weeks depending on conditions
